John Nooney

John Nooney graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1984. He also has a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota, with an undergraduate degree in Economics. John was admitted to practice law in South Dakota in 1984. He was admitted to practice law in federal court in the U.S. District for the District of South Dakota in 1985, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit in 1986, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit in 1992.

For nearly 40 years, John Nooney has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of civil litigation, both at the trial and appellate level. His practice has focused on commercial litigation involving business dissolution, trust and estate litigation, and every aspect of commercial litigation. Over the past 10 years, he and his partners have handled several of the largest corporate/family dissolution actions in the State of South Dakota.

John is an A rated lawyer in the national Martindale Hubbell Peer Review Ratings and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a national association of experienced trial lawyers dedicated to the preservation and promotion of civil jury trials. He is a member and past President of the Pennington County Bar Association, a member of the South Dakota Bar, a member of the American Bar Association, and a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
