Marli A. Schippers- Partner
Marli Schippers earned her law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2012. Marli is a member of the Order of the Coif. Marli earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from the University of Kansas, graduating with highest distinction. Marli was admitted to practice law in South Dakota in 2012. Although Marli was born in Rapid City, she spent most of her childhood in Kansas, returning home to the Black Hills when she joined Nooney & Solay, LLP in August of 2012.
Marli’s primary practice area is Business Transactions, including the representation of small and large businesses in asset purchases and sales and stock purchases and sales; representation of buyers and sellers in the purchase and sale of commercial and residential real property; drafting and negotiating commercial leases for a variety of industries; and drafting and reviewing loan documents for both large and small transactions. Marli has a particular affinity for representing entrepreneurs and small businesses, assisting with entity selection and formation, and general consultation and legal support on a variety of matters. In addition to her Business Transaction practice, Marli also practices in the area of Estate Planning, including drafting Wills, Revocable Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, Family Limited Partnerships, and Powers of Attorney, and probate administration.
Marli was named Super Lawyers Great Plains Rising Star for 2014, 2015, and 2016. Marli is a Member of the West River Estate & Financial Planning Council (Vice President 2016, President 2017), and is a Member of the Pennington County Bar, the South Dakota State Bar, the American Bar Association, the Rapid City Chamber of Commerce, and The OWN.
